Officers of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have been directed to shun all forms of corruption or run the risk of being dismissed and prosecuted, in accordance with the Presidential Executive Order 001.
The Director-General, Julie Okah-Donli stated this today, Tuesday 1st August, 2017 while addressing officers and men of the NAPTIP Lagos Command in the course of her second tour of duty to the state.
The Director-General asked officers to avoid situations that open them to accusations of receiving or facilitating bribes. She assured that efforts are being made towards improving staff allowance to ensure that officers are adequately motivated to work tirelessly towards achieving the Agency’s mandate and goals.
Julie Okah-Donli informed officers that efforts are being made towards ensuring that the Agency’s offices and shelters are conducive enough to facilitate optimal performance.
The DG also enjoined officers and men of the command to be exceptionally disciplined and always bear in mind that every officer of the Agency is not just a regular public servant but one from which is expected, best international standards in all levels of operation. She also informed officers that a reward system has been put in place to honour outstanding officers at the end of every year. This is aimed at encouraging dedication and strengthening commitment amongst officers.
The Director General spent an hour in dialogue with officers and men of the command as they shared their challenges and ideas on how to move the Agency forward.
