In continuation of her bid to strengthen partnership, the Director-General, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim received the Country Rep of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes UNODC Mr. Oliver Stolpe and members of his team and a delegation from the International Organization for Migration IOM headed by the Chief of Missions, Mr. Franz Celestine who joined virtually.
Mr. Stolpe congratulated the DG on her appointment and said his organization will continue to place emphasis on ongoing projects and future corporations. He said UNODC will support NAPTIP in the launch of State Task Forces on HT. He mentioned how his organization is working with NAPTIP in continuous achievements of its 5P strategies.
The Chief of Mission of the IOM Mr. Franz Celestine stated that IOM and NAPTIP have worked relentlessly to ensure a seamless work flow between both Agencies. He said IOM is poised at supporting NAPTIP continuously and proposed an MOU between both Agencies to help achieve a 360 degree approach.
The Director-General in her response thanked both Organizations for their continuous support. She reiterated the need to be more proactive as traffickers are desperate so the fight against TIP calls for desperate measures. The DG said she will continue to partner with the State Governments to ensure the fight against TIP is seamless. She stated that continuous advocacy is needed in this fight and indulged the partnership and support of both organizations in the fight against TIP.
