OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT AND NAPTIP INAUGURATE THE STATE TASK FORCE ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The inaugurating of Task Forces on Human Trafficking in all States of the Federation continued with the inauguration of the Ogun State Task Force by His Excellency The Executive Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele .

The Director-General Dame Julie Okah-Donli in her speech thanked the Ogun State Government for her efforts aimed at tackling the twin evils of Human Trafficking and irregular migration in the State.

The DG gave an overview of NAPTIP stating that the enactment of Trafficking in Persons Prohibition Act was the Federal Government’s response to the fight against this deadly menace.

She also spoke on the Agency’s drive towards fighting Human Trafficking, Sexual and Gender Based Violence. She further explained how the Agency works assiduously to ensure that Ogun State and Nigeria become free of these evil.

The Director General ended by expressing her profound gratitude to His Excellency for the warm reception and gateway hospitality extended to her and her team.

She also thanked the UK Home Office and the International Organization for Migration for sponsoring this project.

In her response, the Deputy Governor thanked the DG for showing so much zeal in ensuring that Human Trafficking is stamped out of the State and Nigeria as a whole. She promised the full support of the Ogun State Government in this fight and assured the DG that NAPTIP will get every necessary support in ensuring the Task Force is successful in her fight.
